Obama Inauguration: Moon Void? Of Course

Inauguration day looms. Hard to imagine what it must feel like to be Barack Obama right now. While the pile of problems on his plate grows bigger by the hour, astrolgers it seems can do little more than lament over the void of course moon in the inauguration horoscope. Clearly the Obama’s (unlike the Reagans) do not have an astrologer at court. This is Camelot but then without Merlin. But now my fellow astrologers the time has come to stop jesting. So, what does this Moon void of course in Scorpio really mean?

The Moon in a mundane chart relates to the people and to the general sphere in which events take place. The Moon in Scorpio is clearly a pained and troubled Moon. Scorpio cuts to the quick. You know that area where it really stings, bad. The Moon relates to the economy. It is where the feel good factor affects collective spending. It is related to the collective feeling of confidence and well being or the lack of it. Scorpio relates to the big changes that come through sacrifice. Scorpio is about death and resurrection. It’s pay back time and the ferryman demands his due. There is no quick and easy way out of the current world crisis. Scorpio is a fixed sign. Through its rulership of the US Cancer Sun… the Moon is a hugely significant planet in the US chart. The mood of the people is somber and yet hopeful – Sagittarius looms on the horizon – but we are not there yet. Those last minutes of Scorpio are akin to the darkest hour before the dawn. Now we come into a void and what is required is quite simple: Faith. The same faith that coloured the whole Obama campaign. So… the moon is void…. but there is gold here too..read on.

If we allow ourselves the freedom to use the void of course moon– then we should also feel free to use other horary techniques, such as antisicion. If you don’t know what antiscion is…look it up. You won’t regret it. By antisicion the Moon in Scorpio falls almost exactly on the inauguration Sun. The Sun symbolises the new leader – the man himself: Barack Obama. This is akin to a covenant between Barack Obama and the American people.  Do not doubt the level of engagement this President has with the problems the people are facing. Miracles can happen, just not overnight. The antiscion between Sun and Moon however, is a good indication that slowly, slowly, the problems will be tackled head on with intelligence and with true and honest concern for the welfare of the people.

So, ask yourself this: Would a Sagittarius Moon in the inauguration horoscope truly reflect the current mood both in the US and abroad or does the Scorpio Moon better fit the bill? I think you will agree with me: the astrology is perfect. The Moon is void in Scorpio, of course.
