Denmark, Jupiter and the fight in the Church

Wednesday evening in Copenhagen, Danish police forcibly evicted a group of Iraqi asylum seekers from a Church.   In the words of Per Ramsdal, dominee of the Brorson-Church where the “invasion” took place, “This act breached the unwritten rule that a Church is a sacred space.” (Trouw, 14/8).  Then yesterday evening,  Danish riot police clobbered peaceful demonstrators, for doing what actually? Protesting? I must admit, I’m a more than a little shocked!! Can the astrology make any sense of this?

Clearly Jupiter has a role to play here. Firstly a Church is a Jupiterian space and foreigners also fall under the same planet.  Jupiter is retrograde at the moment, which implies a returning, and in the air sign, Aquarius which broadly speaking here refers to the “brotherhood of man”.  Air is reasonable, detached, unbiased. At present, Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune, are in opposition with the Sun in Leo. The Sun in Leo is the centre of authority, the main line.  It’s very me – or shall we say in this context – own people – first. The Sun assumes  a position and in a fixed sign, is not flexible. So, “Am I my brother’s keeper?” Aquarius says “Yes” Leo says “No“.  But there’s more to this than meets the eye.

To really understand the situation, you need to look at the horoscope of Denmark  Saturn is transitting Denmark’s ascendant, while Uranus now in opposition to Saturn is moving through the seventh house of open enemies. Now..just to add fuel to the fire, at the moment, Mars in Gemini squares both planets, creating a t-square. Mars is currently doing its thing around Denmark’s tenth house. There we have it.  Saturn on the ascendant, need to assert authority, Uranus in the 7th, social unrest and rebellion, Mars on the midheaven acts as a funnel, channelling the pressure building up in the system and relesting it in the form of violent activity.

While the astrology has certainly helped to explain the situation…. it does not justify it. I hope that when Jupiter turns direct, it will bring in its wake a critical review of what went on in Copenhagen this week.  People have the right to peaceful protest.

NB. Most of these asylum seekers are from central Iraq, where the situation is still dangerous. They have lived for many years in Denemark and according to the Danish police the Iraqi government does not want to take these people back, due to doubts about their identity.
