The Pope’s visit to Britain: Is time running out for the Holy Father?

On Thursday September 16th 2010, Pope Benedict XVI starts his official four day visit to the Britain. The Pope will land in Edinburgh, Scotland, at 10.30 LT, on St. Ninian’s Day. Ninian was the first Scottisch saint – and renowned for his good works. However, Catholicism is currently more associatied with sex-abuse of children than with the salvation of the soul. The visit is already overshadowed by further revelations about sex abuse in Belgium. Details have just emerged concerning 300 cases  – which led to the suicide of 13 young people . Last night a BBC program tried to answer the question: What did the Pope know? With largely immigrants keeping the Catholic Church in the UK alive, how will the Pope be greeted in the Britain? The horoscope for the start of the Pope’s visit to Britain:

Well, lets start with the Moon in fall and in sober Capricorn. This is hardly suggestive of crowds of joyous people. Capricorn is about duty, responsibility and form, going through the motions, doing what one should do. So yes, a significant loyal crowd seems likely to line the streets. The Moon does conjunct the North Node – so within  boundaries, we should see some Jupiterian joy. In general though, I would imagine that most Catholics are dumbstruck by what is happening to their once great Church.

The Moon is ruled by an exalted Saturn – we could even consider this Saturn in Libra as representing the Church itself. Exaltation is generally considered to be good, however in context, exalted also equates with exaggeration and pompousness. By contra-antiscion, Saturn (ruler of fathers) falls on the Sun, “The Holy Father”. So there is an interesting  link between the Church and its representative on earth the Pope. In this horoscope the Sun signifies the Pope. The Sun is Mercury ruled – so I expect wide media coverage – while clearly his message will be analyzed and dissected in a suitably Virgoan fashion.

Venus and Mars are  in the first house, which gives the horoscope a strong Scorpio flavour despite the fact that late Libra rises. Scorpio has often been linked to secrecy but also to exposure. Mars dominates here – so the energy is intensely fraught but also disciplined. There is simply no way for the Pope to avoid the current issues. Uranus and Jupiter are conjunct in the house of children – the shock waves and consequences of past karmic actions(Saturn square Pluto) means that the pigeons have come home to roost. How can the Catholic Church ever hope to regain its former power. It seems more likely that just as the emerging Catholic Church stamped out pagan practices, time is now running out for the Catholic Church. Cult status looms.
