Horoscope Pablo Picasso:A question of art re-emerging..

On November 29th, the big news of the day was the discovery of hundreds of previously unknown works of art by the Spanish artist Pablo Picasso. A French electrician, the 71 year old Pierre le Geunnec, claimed at first that the artist had given him the works, but later he changed his story somewhat, saying that it was the artist’s wife, who had actually given them too him.  The story started to unfold in September when the electrician approached Picasso’s son, Claude in an attempt to get the work authenticated. After that the administrators of Picasso’s estate laid claim to the art work and have filed a case for illegal receipt. For the art world the find is hugely exciting – but the work itself looks set to become the centre of a tug of war between Picasso’s family and Pierre le Geunnec. To see images of the treasure trove, click here. What does the horoscope of Picasso have to say about this conflict ? Horoscope details: Pablo Picasso, October 25th 1881, time 17.40 (source Astrotheme), place Malaga, Spain.

It is not clear when in September Pierre le Geunnec approached Picasso’s son, but we do know that Venus was at the end of Libra during the first week – after that it moved into Scorpio – before retrograding back over the natal sun in Picasso’s horoscope, and re-entering Libra on November 8th. During September Venus and Mars were closely conjunct – and never more than 4 degrees apart. Venus is art, Mars is war. When the story broke, Venus was once again in the last minutes of Libra, which means that Venus was moving direct and into conjunction with Picasso’s natal Sun, when the big world coverage about the art find was taking place.

But there is perhaps a much more telling signature. In Picasso’s horoscope, Venus is in 4 degrees 31 Libra. Here Venus is in its own sign, which is of itself, a good indication of artistic talent. At present Pluto in Capricorn is squaring Picasso’s radix Venus. Pluto is the perfect symbol for the re-emergence of a  treasure trove. Art that was lost is found. However, the square to Venus suggests a enormous battle over the ownership of this work. Furthermore, employees are to be found under the sixth house. The ruler of Picasso’s sixth house is Saturn in Taurus in the ninth house. Picasso was born in Spain, but lived in France, the employer in question is French, and as you can see, Saturn is conjunct with Neptune. What does Saturn in Taurus love? Venus, i.e. art. This conjunction was a source of enormous inspiration for Picasso, but it can also, as the current situation shows, raise issues surrounding the trustworthiness of employees. Strikingly – Venus and Mars in Scorpio – have been transitting in opposition to both Saturn and Neptune.

This case will prove to be long and complicated. Pluto is not through with Picasso’s chart – and I would suggest that ultimately a deal will have to be closed with the electrician. Pluto is set to trine Saturn in the 9th. A lot will depend on the character and trustworthiness of Pierre le Geunnec. While clearly Pluto will do its best to uncover anything unsavoury in Pierre le Geunnec’s past, if there is really nothing of substance to find, the plot will clearly thicken!
