Why it is so wonderful to be a Capricorn right now.

The new year has started. And with a bang, or should I say, with a bust! The news from the UK High Street these last two weeks has been pretty depressing to say the least. Two or is it three big retail chains collapsed? I have lost count. The weather is a ‘disaster darling’, and all this talk of the economic down turn, the dreaded double dip, and the CRISIS, is enough to make even an optimist (which I am not) weep! Oh.. and just in case you think the Netherlands is nirvana.. it’s not. We are feeling the credit crunch or  ’that ghastly pinch’ too. Everyone I know with a small business is struggling to make ends meet. .. And then something happened. I had a “eureka” moment: “Gosh.. It’s wonderful to be Capricorn right now“, I thought.
Clearly this deserves some explanation.

How often can you equate good old solid, boring, conventional, hard working, plod, plod, climb up the ladder Capricorn, with being on the cutting edge of change? Exactly. Don’t all shout out at once please. Yet with Pluto currently bulldozing his way through Capricorn, this is exactly what we Capricorn’s are. We are on the cutting – or rather the harrowing – edge of change. The landscape is being turned over, made ready. One of the images I equate with Capricorn, is the hermit. The idea of ” treasuring the light within” – is particularly relevant to the sign. You see, in all honestly, Capricorn the great pessimist that he is, truly loves a good crisis. Why? Because “when everyone and even all else  fails”, Capricorn turns inward, to resources that make a new start possible. It is this ability to dig deep, and turn direction, that give the cardinal signs their power. They make the earth turn.

So…. A true Capricorn does not mind being careful with resources and can make ‘good housekeeping’  look like a fine art. Pluto is currently driving a deep need to truly understand the meaning of things, the full meaning of the material world. Pluto in Capricorn square Uranus. Wow. How much deeper can we go? This could get really interesting.

So, it is wonderful – to be a Capricorn right now, if, you willing to search out the opening that leads into the depths of the earth and carry a light that exposes the illusion that fear of material loss can create. Capricorn can actually conjure up a laugh – yes we do do that sometimes – when faced with this sort of situation. You see… the material world is ours, we are fully and totally anchored in it. To the true Capricorn, Pluto is not an un-welcome visitor, rather one who opens up vista’s of reality we hadn’t seen before.
