Astrology Insights: Women on the UP – get ready to shake the house

Astrology Insights: With the Sun, Mercury and Venus in creative Leo, we should act like lions: laze around and enjoy the summer. The city has been bathed in glorious sunlight. Amsterdam is awash with tourists taking time out from busy lives. It might seem a bit strange to equate creativity with lazing around – but truly, the best ideas can emerge when the mind is relaxed. On Wednesday, Mercury trines Uranus. This is highly progressive energy and we might expect to achieve a lot in a relatively short time. Be willing to bend the mind, to stretch the muscle, to reach for wayward solutions… Reality bites on Friday, when Mercury squares Mars. This could express as a clash of ideas, a verbal battle, cutting remarks. Both Leo and Scorpio are fixed signs – and Mars is still in Scorpio. An aggressive marketing campaign. A breach of trust. Digging up the dirt on someone – and then publishing it. This is hot, wet and steamy!! On Saturday, Mercury heads for home. Pragmatic, Virgo, will make something out of anything. It’s time to think. How do we structure and earth our creative ideas? How do we multi-task in more efficient ways? How do we set priorities ? These are typical Virgo challenges we need to deal with as we delve deeper into our hottest month.

Astrology Insights: On Friday Uranus turns retrograde.  The stations of the outer planets tend to be coupled with events that reflect the nature of the planet. Uranus will be in 24 degs 30 Aries from July 28 until August 3. When viewed from the perspective of the collective, Uranus in Aries has shown a strong tendency towards lone wolf behaviour, violence and aggression. Where archetypal Libra represents the principle of  balance, harmony and social awareness, archetypal Aries represents the disruptive force of emergent principles and forces, that ultimately bring about changes to the status quo. On a personal level, many of us – I include myself here – will be experiencing a second round of Uranus transits to personal planets. The challenge for us is to incorporate a wider vision, to broaden our horizons, to take in more. Uranus can be incredibly liberating. It can sweep away the cobwebs and leave things fresher. However, the danger with Uranus is that we find ourselves capable of destroying old structures and frameworks, without considering the consequences. Uranus in Aries is very, very impulsive. We should therefore try to conjure up a bit of Libra energy. How? Well ask a friend, talk to a family member we trust, watch a Ted talk, I don’t know, but try to get a different take on things. This can help to broaden our perspective and bring awareness. Change is good – however – we do need to think about ‘what comes next’. We do need to have at least a few rough ideas in mind. What we saw with Brexit – was the impulsive Uranus in Aries energy – let’s vote for complete change – but with a total lack of any  ‘plan B’.

Astrology Insights: Finally, I must mention the Taurus Moon. The Moon on Thursday is quite something. It square’s Venus, trines Jupiter, squares Mercury and then opposes Mars. The Taurus Moon is not easily riled, but watch out for strong talk and action from powerful women.  Taurus is a feminine archetype. As any fan of Game of Thrones will know – women are on the UP. So too in the real world. With Uranus in the last decan of Aries…Ladies, get ready to shake the house.
