Rolling the dice today gave me the planet Pluto, the sign Pisces and the 8th house. What an interesting planetary cocktail… The 8th house is for most astrologers linked to death, but it is also connected to subterranean processes, partner’s money, shared resources, psychology, the occult, multi-nationals, profit from partnership in general, to name but a few. Traditionally, Mars rules the eighth house, but for many astrologers Pluto is the new modern ruler. Pluto, God of the Underworld, who dons the helm of invisibility when walking amongst men, seems to appropriately embody many of the principles of the 8th, if not all.
So today, Pluto is in its own house, in Pisces, that most elusive of water signs. What does this tell me about today. It could point to substantial gain through a partner or a joint venture. It suggests inner riches, and unconscious processes. It suggests an end to something, a vale of shadows, a sense of surrender to forces larger than myself.
Many of these issues have featured today. For example, my daughter recounted the dream she had yesterday. She dreamt she had killed a shoe salesman (Pluto and Pisces symbolism stand out here). Rain spoilt my plans for a brunch in the garden. My partner made the decision not to buy a house in the city he had been interested in. I fell asleep when I should have been packing for my vacation. Tonight the classic horror film the Omen is being shown on the television. Horror is very 8th house. Fascinating stuff this.
