Horoscope principles Jupiter and Pluto

Jupiter is the universal principle of expansion, everything that Jupiter touches become bigger, better and has a larger than life quality. The universe itself is expanding. Of course too much Jupiter can be a bad thing, leading to excess, pompousness, the tendency to mislead others, over enthousiasm leading to pride, hubris and the ultimate fall from grace. Pluto is the universal principle of taboe and of hidden power. The things we dare not speak of for fear of consequences. The true knowledge of life and death. That which we gain and regret gaining. The fall from Eden has a very Plutonian feel to me. Once lost, paradise can never be regained. When Jupiter and Pluto meet we can expect some deep rooted transformations – which might not necessarily be immediately apparent. These might be shifts on an inner plane as opposed to an outer. Remember that when Pluto left the underworld – he always donned the helm of invisibility. Pluto speaks of catharsis and of understanding of the most subtle nature. The name we dare not speak. As in all thing astrological everything depends on the intelligence and spiritual level of the chart owner. So in a horoscope that is working itself out solely on the material level – Jupiter/Pluto could point to some large business deal where a lot of money is made, or to a new profitable contact. In a horoscope that is working itself out on a spiritual level – it could simply point to an insight which could raise the level consciousness. Jupiter and Pluto when combined conjure up powerful energies – which can and often do – move in subtle and ingenious ways. At this point – to check my own thoughts – I just took one of my favourite books to hand: The Combination of Steller Influences – by the German astrologer, Reinhold Ebertin.

Ebertin writes over this combination: The desire for power (plutocracy). The striving for the development of power either in the purely spiritual and mental spheres or in the material sphere, the desire to lead the masses, an appreciation of the need for social or religious regeneration, a brilliant gift for organisation, spiritual and intellectual leadership………

Just some thoughts at the breakfast table….
