Ornithomancy:Olympic Games Opening

I believe in sigils and signs, do you? I am for example very interested in ornithomancy and to me the refusal of the white dove of peace to fly away during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Athens yesterday seemed pretty significant. There’s somthing wrong isn’t there when a bird goes and sits down on the ground ? The chart above is for the time that the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony should have started yesterday, 11.00. However, the organisers (in their infinite wisdom and worried that a storm might blow out the Olympic Flame) brought the ceremony forward by one hour to 10.00 am. This is horoscope two. Horoscope One, here above, is pretty yukky. It’s angles pick up the planetary positions at the Spring Equinox and that chart was pretty hefty. With the Sun/Moon in opposing signs, Aries/Libra, and Pluto in Capricorn opposing Mars in Cancer the planets lined up to form a tight cardinal grand cross. Now…. would you want to hold an opening ceremony under such auspicious banner, particulary one where human rights issues are going to be on the agenda? No. I didn’t think so. Hey… maybe they have an astrologer on board? So what did the time change, actually change? Let’s take a look now at chart 2.

Neptune and the North Node straddle the midheaven. This is of course an evocative, historic happening. The role of the muses was taken over by actrices, this also points to Neptune. The conjunction is unaspected though. Something is being held up – but it’s not a torch (fire) – the conjunction is in air. Air is about our common humanity, about dialogue. I suppose we should give the Olympic Flame itself to the Sun in Aries. After all the Sun is the centre. Here the Sun in 11th the house of brotherhood and friendly community, is caught up between Mars in Cancer and Pluto in Capricorn. The Olympic flame itself has become a focal point for the discord between Pluto the great oppressor and Mars – the emotional need to defend ones borders. This Flame is also the focal planet of a YOD – finger of God construction. The root cause of the trouble? See here, Saturn rules the ninth – China the foreign host of the games – and is in sextile to the Moon – the people. The Moon here in fall in Scorpio. There’s something very nasty in the tool shed. The Saturn/Moon sextile at the base of the YOD demands dialogue and this is exactly what is needed if the Olympic Flame is not to go out on its long journey to Beijing.

The cluster of planets in the 10th, all in watery pisces, look rather sad or forlorn. Venus though exalted, serves Jupiter here in fall in Capricorn: the sign of the establishment. One cannot help but wonder… why the dove (itself a symbol of Venus) refused to fly…….
