Mars: The True Face of O.J. Simpson

Last week during his summing up, the judge in the O.J. Simpson theft trial, talked about the time being ripe to reveal the true face of O.J. Simpson. He urged the jury to see the man behind the mask. Astrologically, when we talk about the facade, we are referring to the persona as reflected by the ascendant and its ruler. The true character we see largely reflected by the position of the Sun and Moon.

O.J. Simpson has led an astonishing life. He reached the height of fame only to fall into an abyss of his own making. His story is an example of hubris on a grand scale, and his birth chart tells the whole sad tale. Astrologically working his way through the transits and secondary progressions O.J. O.J. Simpson has Leo rising and the Sun in Cancer as part of a grand trine in water. A grand trine in water seeks comfort in pleasurable emotional activity. It has an enormous feel good factor. However, this flowing element does not lend itself well to containment and emotional spills can occur. The most elevated planet in the chart is Mars in the double bodied sign Gemini in the 10th house. The two careers of O.J. Simpson are clearly shown here. First the football hero (Mars) and then the succesful actor (the hunk = Mars).

In June 1994, with transit Mars almost exactly conjunct with radix Mars, Nicole Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman were both found brutally murdered. O.J. Simpson was charged with murder. His trial was the most publicised murder trial in history. Mars rules the ninth house, of O.J. Simpson’s horoscope, which is connected to courts and legal matters. The trial became so  famous because it was broadcast live to the nation. This was the “People’s Court” big time. Gemini is about dissemination of knowledge. About getting the story out there. On 13 Sept. 2007, with tranist Mars once again in Gemini but conjunct with Uranus, O.J. Simpson and others, burst into a hotel room in Las Vegas, heavily armed. O.J. Simpson memorabilia was stolen. O.J. Simpson was arrested for theft and remarkably, exactly thirteen years to the day that he was aquitted for murdering his wife and her friend, he was found guilty of the burgulary.

Looking now at the prog. chart as shown we see that Mars is once again a significant player. It has now progressed to an almost exact conjucntion with the radix sun. this secondary progressed Mars in Cancer exposes  the inherent emotional weakness in the character. The conjunction is ruled by the Moon and here we see the progressed Moon conjunct with Uranus. This progressed aspect is reinforcing the radix Moon Uranus square. Uranus is the major circuit breaker in the grand trine in water. It is no coincidence that the Moon rules the 12th, the house of self undoing. In effect this is “Game Over” for O.J. Simpson. His grand-trine is played out.

That there will be no mercy for O.J. Simpson and that he will get the maximum sentence he can be given is very evident from the chart. Those who offend the God’s can expect no mercy. Transit Saturn is now conjunct with the progressed Sun/Venus conjunction and the Moon is heading into obscurity. Justice has been seen to be done.
