World Cup 2010: France plays Uranus, will England play Saturn?

This World Cup is Full of Suprises. Let’s start with the basic increment of the game: the ball. Sounds simple enough, it should be round and kick-able.  However, this ball, called the Jabulani has a mind of its own and drove players and goalkeepers in the first games to the edge of dispair. Then there’s been the upsets: teams that looked good on paper, but that have  been able to deliver the goods (e.g. England, Italy, and France). Let’s stay with France for a moment.  If nothing else, France it seems have definitely taken it upon themselves to play Uranus. Yes Uranus. Saturn and Uranus are playing out their opposition in the South African football stadiums.

Writing in the Dutch newspaper, the Trouw, yesterday columnist Sylvain Ephimenco likened the ruin of the team to the state of the country itself. The team it seems mirrors the nation. Many French people believe that most of the players do not love “France, its flag, shirt or national anthem”.  There seems to be an enormous divide in the team along ethnic and religious lines. “The white players, who are in the minority, hardly speak with the black players.”  In fact the French believe that Ribery and Anelka (both moslim converts) denied the Breton, Gourcuff the ball. Add to this the continued speculation that coach Domenech uses astrology, and the refusal of players to actually play, and there can only be once conclusion: France is definitely doing Uranus !!

Discussing matches from the inside the BBC’s  Pentagon Shaped  ‘glass house” in Cape Town, ex England captain  Gary Lineker, is also giving voice to Uranus:  “I’ve never seen a World Cup like this, have you? It’s full of surprises.” And yes it is. The competition kicked off under such an incredible planetary line-up.

Enough now about Uranus. I clench my teeth. Whose doing Saturn?

Today is England’s big match versus Slovenia. What does the astrology have to say about that? Well, to be honest, I’m worried. The lunar eclips that falls on Saturday is already pulling events towards itself. The UK is itself born under the opposition of the Sun/Moon – Sun in Capricorn, Moon in Cancer and this eclips falls close to the MC (Cancer), IC (Capricorn) axis, in the UK horosope. Judging by the budget the ConDems presented yesterday – there’s not an awful lot to smile about.  So, is England about to play Saturn? It’s at such times, that one needs to ensure that there is a lot of chocolate in the fridge.  Apart from that, it is comforting to remember that Jupiter is conjunct with Uranus. Expect the unexpected… but please don’t let Slovenia win!!!
