Geert Wilders, New York: 9/11 – Uranus, Pluto and the centre stage

Of all the 9/11 memoriums to date, this years  is the most controversial. Though  pastor Terry Jones has (thankfully) called off his proposed Koran burning event, Dutch politician Geert Wilders will not be postponing his speech at an anti-Islam event in New York, on 9/11. Geert will be adding his voice against the building of an islamitisch cultural center some blocks from the New World Trade Center. Such controversies provide certain people with a big stick to beat with.

It seems however that Geert Wilders publicly condemned the pastor’s plan, which is a little out of character since he himself had planned to burn a copy of the Koran in his 2008 film Fitna. However surely those who wander the corridors of power in the Netherlands must be allowing themselves a collective sigh of relief. Signs of hope perhaps that Geert will behave more like a politician than a member of the “monster raving loony party” when he takes centre stage in NY?

Anyway, let’s get down to the nitty gritty. The really interesting stuff. The astrology… Uranus square Pluto. This explosive combination of outer planets is once again doing a pretty good job of profiteering from the current financial upheaval. Crises of this sort always tend to lead to social and political polarization, and to the threatened disintegration of collective values. The present demonisation of vulnerable groups of people (thinking here of France and her current expulsion policy with regard to the Roma people, not to mention the growing paranoia in the West with regard to moslims), is pretty reminiscent of the last Uranus, Pluto square. Though the scapegoats might be different, the energy is clearly similiar. When Adolf Hitler became German Chancellor on 30 January 1933, around noon, he did so under a Uranus/Pluto square. See horoscope:

Uranus is revolutionary, militant and unpredictable, while Pluto in Capricorn has already started the process of destroying old and creating new power structures. Pluto in Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, which is now exalted in Libra. My conclusion, rulers tighten the reigns, while simultaneously the quest for power starts to take a darker road.

But let’s get back to Geert. Geert Wilders is now set to enter politics in a big way in the Netherlands. A sort of puppet master behind the throne, because it is only with his party’s support from the “back benches” that a right wing CDA/VVD governement can form a legitimite governement. It’s all a little bit scary if you ask me. With Uranus square Pluto, it seems as if the  early 1930’s have come back to haunt us. What makes it really scary though, is that Geert Wilders also once tried his hand at painting!!

This next horoscope is a bi-wheel. Inner wheel is set for 14.00 NY, on 9/11 2010, time given for start of the event, while the outer wheel is Geert Wilders horoscope (birth time unknown, Sept. 6, 1963, Venlo, Netherlands)

Clearly with Mercury retrograding on Geert’s radix Uranus, he will be thinking carefully about what he says. Wilders, with his died blonde hair, outspoken manner, and tendency to come up with offensive “one-liners” is very Uranian. One thing you can say with surety about Geert, he is predictably, unpredicatable. Wilder’s political and  ideological agenda (Uranus) in the Netherlands could be damaged if he is too up front. See also transitting Saturn conjunct with his radix Mercury – and this in the 10th house of the US natal (Sag. rising) chart. Weighty but well considered words. The language barrier or a limitation on what Geert Wilders feels he is really able to express. Saturn crystallises, and solidifies. Also Geert is having his Mars return. Clearly he sees a new round of chances and possibilities opening up before for him. The possibility of real political power and influence is intoxicating. The two year Mars cycle is important – certainly where our ambitions are concerned. Mars galvanises energy and sets us charging off to achieve our goals.

All things considered, with Geert Wilder’s Sun riding high in the chart, he will be delighted by all the media attention. He will quite literally bask in the sulight. However under the current transits there will be plenty of critical analysis of what he has to say.
