Pluto in the wings: My fears for “old blighty”

Can David Cameron’s idea of the “Big Society” which clearly has a Jupiterian ring to it work ? This is the question I asked myself this morning. From 2013 onwards Pluto will start to transit the Sun in the UK horoscope, which under the current political and social climate in the UK can only mean one thing: crisis, breakdown and social unrest.  By January 2013 which is when the transit  starts to kick in, the effects of the draconic spending cuts and its impact on UK social and community life will start to be felt. As a journalist in the Guardian newspaper  put it this morning, David Osbourne “drove his axe deep into the heart of the British State“. The Sun is the heart of the country and it is poised to take a beating.

When I first looked at the horoscope for the new ConDem coalition – I mistook the slow moving scorpio ascendant and the Sun in Taurus – as an indication of exactly that: a slowness to act. However it has become increasingly clear that in contrast to his pre-election campaign, when David Cameron was likened to Edward Heath, he is now showing his true colours. David Cameron  is Magaret Thatcher’s rightful heir. Taurus is a deeply conservative, materialistic sign – and David Cameron is playing a dangerous game. The idea of a Big Society – which Cameron tells us is inclusive – i.e. for everyone – is clearly not meant for everyone. The divide in British society is set to open up into a gaping wound. Once again – I say – I am worried. Pluto’s energy can be unbelievably powerful when it transits a country’s Sun. Remember Idi Amin and Uganda and the disintegration of the former USSR? It is worth remembering that both these events took place against the backdrop of a Pluto transit to radix Sun. While I am not suggesting that Britian will literally fall apart, I am suggesting that the underlying tensions and resentments, felt particularly in those areas of the country (for example in my birth place, South Wales) that are already struggling with high unemployment and social depravation, will burst out into the open rather like septic from a poisoned wound.

Alan Johnson, Labour’s shadow chancellor was right yesterday, when he said “”We have seen people cheering the deepest cuts to public spending in living memory. For some people opposite this is their ideological objective. For many of them, not all of them, this is what they came into politics for.”

This is one astrologer who is feeling pretty anxious for good old Blighty !!
