Due to the enormous success of the Millennium Trilogy, the name Stieg Larsson has almost become a household name. However, literary genius to one side, what I personally find so fascinating about Stieg Larsson is the tricky question of his estate. (Bear in mind I have Scorpio rising, and Pluto conjunct the midheaven.) Stieg Larsson died suddenly of a heart attack in 2004, leaving no final will and testament. Under Swedish law – since Stieg wasn’t married to his long term partner Eva Gabrielsson – she is not entitled to inherit anything from his estate. All the profits from the books – already more than 13 million dollars- currently go to Stieg’s father and brother. Now that’s a hell of an uncomfortable thought to get one’s head around. Wasn’t Sweden a progressive country? Meanwhile back at the fjord, relations between Eva and Stieg’s family are strained…
The horoscope of Stieg Larsson, Aug. 15 1954, 12.00 (time unknown) Skelleftehamn, Sweden
This is clearly a great horoscope for anyone wanting to explore the darker side of human nature – but in a highly creative way. Leo is an incredibly creative sign. The Sun separates from its conjunction with Mercury – and moves into contact with Pluto. Stieg Larsson led a quite dangerous life – he was highly political certainly as a young man- and it is said one of the reasons he did not want to marry Eva was to protect her from potential risks. Sun/Pluto thrives however on life experiences that many a lesser mortal would consider unpalatable. A Sun/Pluto conjunction makes one probing and attracted to life’s mysteries. Stieg Larsson is born under the conjunction of Jupiter/Uranus in Cancer – which can be inspirational but is always opportunistic. Venus is in highly cultivated and artistically inclined Libra – and the Moon is either in Pisces or Aquarius. Interestingly five of the ten planets are in the last decan – suggestive of maturity. Venus and Saturn are early on in their signs -(6 and 3 degrees respectively) and both are possibly unaspected. Saturn is connected to responsibility – and Venus to the life love. An omission in this area has had enormous impact on Eva Gabrielsson’s life. But what about Eva?
