Horoscope: Prince Charles, longest serving heir apparent in British history

Prince Charles has recently become the longest serving heir apparent in British history. This position was previously held by his great great grandfather King Edward VII – son of Queen Victoria – who had to wait 59 years, two months and 13 days before being crowned King. King Edward VII (who ruled for nine years) was born on 9 November 1841, in London, at 10.48 am. Prince Charles was born on November 14th 1948, in London om 9.14 pm. Both men share the same sun sign, Scorpio – but do the similarities between the horoscopes end there? 1) horoscope King Edward VII, 2) horoscope Prince Charles

The 10th house rules mothers and one’s profession. Interestingly both men have a Mars ruled midheaven which is the ruler of their sun sign Scorpio. King Edward has Mars – exalted in Capricorn in the 1st house. Capricorn is a cold, melancholy sign – interestingly many images of Queen Victoria portray her in later life when she was in mourning for Prince Albert. Queen Victoria dressed in black for many many years. Prince Charles has Mars in Sagittarius in the 5th moving into opposition with Uranus in Gemini. Queen Elizabeth’s reign has been one of great change and innovation. Her coronation was the first to be televised, and as former colonies gained independence she became Queen of a much larger Commonwealth (at present 25 countries). Jupiter is in Charles’s fifth house – and the monarchy suffered as a result of his long standing love affair with his now wife, Camilla – Duchess of Cornwall.

Both men were children of strong and powerful women rulers – who would never contemplate abdicating. Charles has the Moon in the fixed sign Taurus in the 10th (in the same sign as Queen Elizabeth’s Sun). King Edward VII has the Moon in the last minutes of Virgo – moving into a square with Saturn  comfortable in its own sign Capricorn- conjunct the ascendant. Saturn is conjunct the axis of the world as is the Moon.

King Edward VII has the Sun in the 10th – suggesting that his ambitions would eventually be realised. Prince Charles on the other hand has the Sun under the horizon and conjunct with the fifth house cusp. If Queen Elizabeth lives as long as her mother (101 years) then Prince Charles would be 79 when he became King! The Moon in Taurus looks very, very comfortable in the 10th house of Prince Charles’s horoscope and it is conjunct the North Node. Prince Charles‘ Sun and Mars are both peregrine. A planet peregrine is often described as a planet without a home… perhaps we could also describe it as a King without a crown.
