This morning, May 1st, at 04.06 Mars and Jupiter were conjunct at 22 Aries 20. This conjunction particularly interested me as it falls on my radix Mars. However, as is often the case when you start looking into something astrological, you make discoveries. Today, we have in fact reached the 7th conjunction of planets in Aries since Mars entered its own sign on April 2nd! This is an overview of this remarkable sequel of conjunctions all of which of course, are ruled by Mars.
April 4th: Mars conjunct Uranus 1 deg. 17 Aries
April 6th: Sun conjunct Jupiter 16 deg. 26 Aries
April 9th: Sun conjunct Mercury 19 deg. 36 Aries
April 12th: Mercury conjunct Jupiter: 17 deg. 47 Aries
April 19th: Mercury conjunct Mars: 13 deg. 29 Aries
April 23e: Venus conjunct Uranus: 2 deg. 2 Aries
May 1st: Mars conjunct Jupiter: 22 deg. 20 Aries
May 9th: Mercury conjunct Venus: 22 deg, 21 Aries
May 11th Mars enters Taurus – against a backdrop of a triple conjunction of Mercury, Venus and Jupiter in 24 degrees Aries.
I find this quite a staggering list of conjunctions. At the time of writing this article, May 1st – even the Moon is in Aries. The Moon relates to family – and the main news story on the BBC website today is about the death of Col. Gaddafi’s son and three of his children during a Nato bombing raid on Libya.
Mars is at present is in its own sign – which will of course bring out the finer qualities of the planet: courage, daring, bravery. This sense of the warrior’s spirit is currently being brought to bear on a whole range of collective cycles. In fact with Jupiter involved, dare I even say the spiritual warrior is being awakened in us?
Though the cycles that are starting now are short, it does not mean they are wholly insignificant. Shorter cycles concern our day to day lives, the ebb and flow within the collective. Under this gathering of planets in Aries, Northern Europe is experiencing a phenomenal heatwave. The warmth brings out the sun in us – and despite the recession and financial malaise – people are enjoying themselves.
We could say that the Sun/Jupiter conjunction in Aries relates to a leap of faith. Jupiter and the Sun are both linked to royalty and under this incredible display of conjunctions we have seen the royal wedding of Prince William to commoner Kate Middleton. What an incredible break with royal tradition. Personally I think on a spiritual level this was made possible by America’s election of Barak Obama as President. If the person is right – then we must be bold enough to break with tradition.
Given the length of this blog post – I have decided to place my thoughts on the Mars/Jupiter cycle – which is actually the longest of all the cycles that are now beginning – in a separate post, which I will publish later today – or tomorrow.
