The spiritual warrior: Mars conjunct Jupiter, marks 7th conjunction in Aries series

This morning, May 1st, at 04.06 Mars and Jupiter were conjunct at 22 Aries 20. This conjunction particularly interested me as it falls on my radix Mars.  However, as is often the case when you start looking into something astrological, you make discoveries. Today, we have in fact reached the 7th conjunction of planets in Aries since Mars entered its own sign on April 2nd! This is an overview of this remarkable sequel of conjunctions all of which of course, are ruled by Mars.

April 4th: Mars conjunct Uranus 1 deg. 17 Aries
April 6th: Sun conjunct Jupiter 16 deg. 26 Aries
April 9th: Sun conjunct Mercury 19 deg. 36 Aries
April 12th: Mercury conjunct Jupiter: 17 deg. 47 Aries
April 19th: Mercury conjunct Mars: 13 deg. 29 Aries
April 23e: Venus conjunct Uranus: 2 deg. 2 Aries
May 1st: Mars conjunct Jupiter: 22 deg. 20 Aries
May 9th: Mercury conjunct Venus: 22 deg, 21 Aries
May 11th Mars enters Taurus – against a backdrop of a triple conjunction of Mercury, Venus and Jupiter in 24 degrees Aries.

I find this quite a staggering list of conjunctions. At the time of writing this article, May 1st – even the Moon is in Aries. The Moon relates to family –  and the main news story on the BBC website today is about the death of  Col. Gaddafi’s son  and three of his children during a Nato bombing raid on Libya.

Mars is at present is in its own sign – which will of course bring out the finer qualities of the planet: courage, daring, bravery. This sense of the warrior’s spirit is currently being brought to bear on a whole range of collective cycles. In fact with Jupiter involved, dare I even say the spiritual warrior is being awakened in us?

Though the cycles that are starting now are short, it does not mean they are wholly insignificant. Shorter cycles concern our day to day lives, the ebb and flow within the collective. Under this gathering of planets in Aries, Northern Europe is experiencing a phenomenal heatwave. The warmth brings out the sun in us – and despite the recession and financial malaise – people are enjoying themselves.

We could say that the Sun/Jupiter conjunction in Aries relates to a leap of faith. Jupiter and the Sun are both linked to royalty and under this incredible display of conjunctions we have seen the royal wedding of Prince William to commoner Kate Middleton. What an incredible break with royal tradition. Personally I think on a spiritual level this was made possible by America’s election of Barak Obama as President. If the person is right – then we must be bold enough to break with tradition.

Given the length of this blog post – I have decided to place my thoughts on the Mars/Jupiter cycle – which is actually the longest of all the cycles that are now beginning – in a separate post, which I will publish later today – or tomorrow.

  1. Hi Elizabeth
I really enjoyed your take on this. I think you are right with the sense of the rise of the spiritual warrior. certainly with the entry of Uranus in Aries it is as though we have been ‘woken up’. Jupiter to me helps us find the meaning – gives us the opportunity to understand what it means.
I have a very full 9th house with Venus conjunct MC then Saturn, the North Node and Mercury all in Aries. The Sun and BML sit at 0 degrees Taurus. So this gang of planets in Aries is creating sparks!

Hi Paul, Bit of a Neptunian move to simply dump the body at sea – as opposed to parading it in front of the world’s press, wouldn’t you agree? The conjunction (falling in US 4th) is squaring US Mercury in the 8th (secret intelligence) – and Mercury does rule the media. This is a huge news story of course. But perhaps Osama Bin Laden has simply lost all power – and the time had come for people’s enemy number ONE (US Mercury does after all rule the US 7th – the house of open enemies) – to be killed off. Anyway – must admit – I for one am a little suspicious. How long before the conspiracy theories start ??? Is Osama really dead? Osama spotted in …. Goodness me, if they did have a body – (8th house) I think giving it up to the sea was a mistake. Agree?

  5. Hamas condemns US killing of bin Laden, calls it an ‘assassination’ of ‘Arab holy warrior’ – Reuters
Here s the Warrior…..and one of the many messages on Twitter…it’s quiet a media circus now!

    Thanks for the article, Elizabeth.

    HI Liz,
Well it would appear to be a done job.

whilst searching the net for osama’s birth details i came across one entry in astrodatabank

The horoscope shows, that it is live and lives in the east. To the death will be in moving. Its death will come 03.05.2011 years from burns of a body and drugs as raised dose of an anaesthetic.

someone predicted his death two years ago a few days out. 😉

Hi Paul, I do have a sense that people’s confidence in authority and in the official version of events – has been deeply undermined in the last decades. Trust in Government is at an all time low. Last night I watched Pauw & Witteman – where they briefly showed a picture of a dead Osama Bin Laden. I looked for this image on the net after the show- but according to the Volkskrant this morning – this image is now widely believed to be composite, photo-shopped image, the original source of which is unknown. I thought it looked like Osama Bin Laden. Since posting my response yesterday I have visited various websites (BBC, the Guardian, AlJazeera, etc) and have also read the Volkskrant this morning. Yes – it all looks convincing – done and dusted. And yet I am left with a sense of ‘what if…..?”
