Horoscope: David Cameron, his own worse enemy?

Well the bookies got it wrong. It’s Friday July 22nd- and David Cameron is still Prime Minister and with UK Parliament in summer recess – the heat is off – for now. BUT – don’t imagine that the phone hacking scandal will fade away into another tequila sunrise. This article looks at the distinct possibility of David Cameron still being knocked off his perch.

The horoscope of David Cameron is on the inner wheel – the outer wheel is the secondary progressed chart for July 4th 2011 (date that the Guardian newspaper publishes the story of the hacking of mobile telephone of the missing school girl Milly Dowler). Click to enlarge image:

What is striking in the chart is that the progressed Sun has recently moved sign and is now in Sagittarius. Note the Sun’s essential dignity has been greatly increased by this. The sign change came about shortly after David Cameron become the UK’s Prime Minister. The Sun’s mutual reception with Jupiter in Leo – and the Sun‘s rulership of the 11th house (in mundane astrology the house of Parliament itself) gives us some idea of how strong an asset David Cameron is to his own party. The Progressed Moon – ruler of the Cancer midheaven – is on the descendant in Aries. This guy will fight tooth and nail to save his reputation and his career. The Moon will be in the seventh house of open enemies for approximately two years. David Cameron – it must be said – put on a magnificent performance during Wednesday’s debate in the House of Commons. He was on the attack – confronting the opposition with their own links to the Murdochs – and on occasions refusing to give a direct answer to questions. There is a grand trine linking both horoscopes, between the elevated natal Venus/Jupiter conjunction in Leo, the progressed Moon in Aries, and progressed Sun/Venus in Sagittarius. When it isn’t simply speeding up events – a grand trine construct can offer plenty of protective cover – however, its Mercury that particularly interests me. Like any big scandal – think of Watergate for example – events will slowly unfold. So why is David Cameron‘s Mercury so important???

Mercury is ruler of the 12th house – the house of self-undoing. In combination with the progressed Moon in Aries which when the trines are played out – will oppose David Cameron‘s Venus and Sun – suggests that David Cameron could be his own worse enemy. Mercury has been in touch with Neptune and progressed it now moves towards a conjunction with the South Node. This has a decidedly fated quality – but only if there is a question of subterfuge. Certainly the Uranus/Pluto conjunction in the 12th – Mercury ruled as it is – does not look entirely above suspicion. October 2010 – for example – progressed Mars, ruler of David Cameron‘s third house – was conjunct progressed Uranus and Pluto in the 12th. (Around this time the New York Times published its own news story  about the extent of phone hacking at the News of the World.) It seems hard to imagine that the BSkyB bid was not discussed behind closed doors with the Murdochs. The third house is the house of communication, what we say and how we say it. It also rules neighbours. It must be said the ‘neighbourly’ relationship with Rebekah Brooks could as yet cause deep trouble for David Cameron. More importantly however -it is David Cameron‘s employment of Andy Coulson as director of communications for the Conservative Party in May 2010 – that will create the biggest problems for the Prime Minister.

This second horoscope is a bi-wheel, with again David Cameron’s horoscope on the inner wheel – and the transits for July 1 2012 on the outer wheel. (The Leveson report into blagging/phone hacking should have just been published by this time).

Clearly at this time the pressure will be full on – again. David Cameron faces – purely astrologically speaking – a difficult road ahead. Transitting Pluto squares radix Venus from the fourth house – while transitting Uranus opposes Venus and squares Pluto – from the 7th. The first house is all about personality – and appearances – Uranus/Pluto about the machinations of power. What was in radix 12th – is exposed. Transitting Uranus/Pluto are in angular houses – suggesting visibility.

Meanwhile – at this same time – transitting Pluto moves into conjunction with UK radix Sun. If nothing else – what the Brits are slowly but surely becoming aware of – is the revolving door of jobs and the double standards employed by those at the top. The Old Boys Network – still rules supreme. However, the Uranus/Pluto square hasn’t even started to kick butt yet!! Slowly but surely more exposure looms.
