Blood Moon-Lunar Eclipse and the Pluto in Libra Generation

What I am missing in the articles I have read on tomorrow’s lunar eclipse/Blood Moon is the context of the big picture. As above as below – so what is the big picture and what might this eclipse be saying ?

1. Eclipses always fall around the current position of the transiting nodes of the Moon.** The lunar nodes are currently falling across the Libra/Aries axis. Most contemporary astrologers see a connection between the Moon’s nodes and past life experience. The position of the North Node of the Moon – indicates where growth and development can occur in the current life – the South Node of the Moon – relates to past experience and in my opinion also to talents that are carried over from a previous life to the current incarnation.

2. The planet that many contemporary astrologers see as being specifically linked to the soul purpose in this life, is Pluto.

The eclipse falling across the Libra/Aries axis – could have something particularly meaningful to say to the generation born with Pluto in Libra – i.e. the generation born between October 5, 1971 and 6 November 1983. The generation born with Pluto in Libra are now aged between 32 and 45 years old. These are children that grew up in the aftermath of the 1960’s revolution – linked astrologically to Uranus conjunct Pluto in Virgo. This is a generation who – as far as relationships are concerned – have had to re-invent the wheel. Many of this generation grew up in single-parent families, or had parents that divorced when they were children. Others grew up in more experimental communities, communes, women only houses, etc. etc.. The sexual revolution – which expanded into the 1970’s – reached a climax and then dissipated – when Pluto entered Scorpio. Aids arrived on the scene and the party was over.

The generation born with Pluto in Libra is having to discover the true nature and value of relationships for themselves. Deeply drawn towards partnerships – this generation often has no in-built programming or inside information with regard to what makes a marriage work or what the ‘day to day’ of relationship looks like. Depending on the aspects and tone of the rest of the birth chart – the journey towards the other can therefore be tinged with a strong desire to ‘ go your own way’ as reflected in the sign opposite Pluto’s, Aries.

Many of my own clients aged between 32 and 45 are struggling to find balance and equilibrium in their lives. This is a core Libra theme. Juggling demands and finding the energy (Aries) to meet those demands. I sense a restlessness under my single clients – some are starting to panic (Aries) and wonder whether the fact that they have spent so much time on pursuing their individual goals and career (Aries) have meant that they have invested too little time in establishing meaningful relationship (Libra). The fact that the Moon’s nodes will soon move across and into the Virgo/Pisces axis adding to a sense of urgency for this age group. The Moon is now closest to earth – the earth is the body – our body – we are the earth. This is a time for home truths – for listening to reality bites. The Moon is eclipsed – cut off – however briefly from the light of the Sun. It is time to get real.

The period around Full Moon can potentially be hugely reflective. This is because the Moon (our unconscious patterns and emotional needs) is fully illuminated whereby allowing us, quite literally, to ‘see in the dark’. As we become aware of contributing emotional factors and ‘see’ the emotional impact other people or life situations are having on us – things sometimes reach a crisis point. This is particularly true of an Aries Full Moon. Aries tends to act first and think later. However, now the Moon is eclipsed. Now we are called on to act wisely, act diplomatically, act lovingly and use our will to overwrite the desire to act out (Aries). There is a strong mutual reception between Venus and the Sun. Each are in the sign of the other and so are able to see and understand each other and able to help and support each other. This is male female energy working through on a deeper level than an emotional tug of war (Aries). This indicates co-operation between male and female in order to bring true relationship into being.

While I feel that this Super Moon – can press home a particularly poignant message to this Pluto in Libra generation – those people born with the natal North Node of the Moon in Libra or in Aries will also be especially in tune with this Super Moon.

3: The closeness to the earth is important from another perspective too. The earth is a planet and at times when eclipses occur – we are reminded of our connectivity to large extended wholes. We are drawn into a ‘cosmic happening’ and like our ancestors, we are simultaneously struck by the simplicity and complexity of what is taking place. Our eyes are opened to the ‘wonders of the universe’ and we can be and should be awed by what we are seeing. This eclipse – all eclipses – draw us into this realm of the ancestors – into a primal world – of deep meaning and connectivity.

Take time out tonight – go outside – look to the heavens and breathe. We are stardust…

**The lunar nodes are the points where the orbit of the Moon crosses the ecliptic. The ascending node is where the moon crosses from south of the ecliptic to north of the ecliptic. The descending node is where it crosses from north of the ecliptic to south of the ecliptic.

I really enjoyed this article by Margaret Grey on this eclipse. Well worth a read. giving excellent background knowledge and personal insight into the eclipse
