Astro-insight: Libra versus Capricorn – whose side are You on?

Astro-insight: Libra versus Capricorn
A flurry of activity leads in the weekend to the planets chosing allegiance. At the start of the week, Jupiter trails behind the Sun. Libra stresses the positive virtues of balance, good judgement, temperance and the dangers of uncertainty and its bedfellow, oscillation. While Libra can struggle to make up its mind, once decided, Libra can be awesome in its fidelity. As the week progresses, we will be granted ample opportunity to test our resolve in a certain area or areas. Mars in Capricorn is indicative of hard work and the Sun/Pluto sextile on Tuesday is likely to reward those who grasp opportunities. With the Sun square Pluto on Friday, expect those in the public arena who clearly show (or have shown) a clear lack of good judgement, to get into serious trouble.
In general, this week avoid doing anything that can’t see the light of day.  Covert, cloak and dagger, criminal activity, particularly concerning people in high places, could well dominate the news ! At the very least the Sun/Pluto square could result in exposure, further allegations and a whole lot of mud slinging.

Astro-insight: Libra versus Capricorn
What do I mean by the planets chosing allegiance? This weekend we have two stelliums: Mercury (which enters Libra on Friday), Jupiter and the Sun on one side of the pond and Moon, Mars, and Pluto in Capricorn on the other. The sign relationship is a square which makes this a tough line up. Capricorn can appear insensitive and Mars & Pluto emphasise Capricorn’s  ’tough cookie’ image. On the other hand the Moon is sensitive and is also the fastest moving planet of the six. It is the Moon that over the course of the weekend, hits all the buttons, sets the agenda, gets people joined up. The Moon has a lot of work to do. Building bridges is a thought that sprung to mind. As cardinal signs both Libra and Capricorn have direction – problem is – those directions are diametrically opposed. Given that the second presidential debate between Trump and Clinton takes place on Sunday October 9th, it is noteworthy that early on the morning of October 10th the Moon enters Aquarius, the sign of the USA’s own radix Moon. I think after Sunday, a lot of doubting voters will have made up their minds. With Trump’s tax dodges (how very Plutonian, Scorpionic, Sun/Pluto square) in the news, this weekend the Trump might very well dig his own grave.

Astro-insight: Libra versus Capricorn
The down-side of the Libra/Capricorn combination, particularly in the weekend, is that the Moon in Capricorn might suppress feelings and emotions that endanger harmony. Capricorn can be formal and the idea of ‘keeping up appearances’ springs to mind. This feels a little joy-less. Also the Capricorn Moon’s ambition can get in the way of or act as a substitute for real connectivity with other people. Stellium’s are interesting because they bring a good deal of focus, which is absolutely necessary when you consider planets are meeting up and new cycles of relating are being entered into. Interestingly, I find Mercury, Sun and Jupiter an almost harmonious group of planets even when we leave Libra out of the equation. Sun and Jupiter are both related to kings, royalty, important figures in general. Jupiter is the largest planet – the Sun the most pivotal. Mercury is in many ways the herald of the Sun, it is the Sun’s closest companion.
Mars and Pluto also seem complementary. Pluto is lord of the underworld and Capricorn is an earthy, deep, mysterious sign that is comfortable with its own inwardness. Mars is exalted here – because the natural energy of the planet is tamed and quite literally, put to work. So, in my opinion, certainly from late Friday evening until next week Monday, the Moon is the planet to watch. Women feature this weekend.

Astro-insight: Libra versus Capricorn
Sun square Pluto is exact late on Friday evening and I am mindful of a quote by Albert Einstein, ‘from discord find harmony. In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity’. Well, we might put this one to the test this week. Pluto can be an incredibly hard task-master. As always where Pluto is involved – make sure your intentions are as crystal clear as a mountain stream.

Astro-insight:
Final note… Venus in Scorpio (which I love).. sextiles Pluto on Wednesday closely followed (23 minutes later) by a Mars, Jupiter square. This feels a bit like stoking a hornet’s nest. Another day to watch! Passion runs high while simultaneously aggression is at a peak. Channeling this energy well could see a substantial reduction in the work load. Channel this badly? End up behind bars? 🙂
