Astro-insight: 11 October – Mercury conjunct Jupiter in Libra; Mars sextile Neptune
Early this morning I watched the second Presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump and thought the unwillingness of both candidates to shake each others hand at the start of the debate set the tone. If you think about it, shaking hands is a Libran act: my hand meets your hand, somewhere there in the middle, like the fulcrum of a weighing scale. Mercury conjunct Jupiter in Libra should be sending out a strong positive message, yet I fear this conjunction is currently not about good will, fairness, political correctness, or any of the other positive associations we have with Libra. This is more about pumping up, pressing out, and the conjunction, coming hours after the debate itself, surely signals the start of what the New York Times refers to as an ‘ugly political brawl’. This debate was bitter and personal. Of course the Jupiterian spectacle of the big political event is present event if what we are seeing clearly isn’t pleasant. I thought the first questioner who asked whether the debates were actually suitable for a young audience – remember many schools make the debates compulsory viewing – hit the nail on the head: it’s like saying to kids, look, this is how our leaders behave. That’s debunked the idea that Jupiter is connected to positive role models !
Mars sextile Neptune on the other hand, is an invitation to move away from hostility and competitiveness towards more imaginative, creative or humanitarian pursuits. Mars in Capricorn is tough while Neptune in Pisces is incredibly inclusive and all embracing. This could feel like soppy hugs: photo opportunities, where candidates meet old people, smooth pets, hold babies etc. etc.. Alternatively, pharmaceuticals might be in the news.
Astro-insight: Wednesday 12 October – Venus in Scorpio inconjunct Uranus in Aries
Venus and Uranus are currently both ruled by Mars in Capricorn and Mars has been hanging out of late. The Mars/Jupiter square last week, leant itself very, very well to exaggerated behaviour – which incidentally also includes behaviour of the sexual kind. No surprise then that ‘The Trump’ got caught in the headlights ! Sex, especially when excess is involved, is very, very Mars square Jupiter and then we haven’t mentioned Capricorn and the phenomena of the ‘randy olde goat’.
Anyway… long story short: established relationships could come under stress. Mars, Uranus and Aries are about the thrill of the chase but, Venus in Scorpio knows everything there is to know about sex. This could be the start of something, I mean seriously, just look were Mars is heading……
Astro-insight: Thursday 13 October – Mercury in Libra square Mars in Capricorn
I expect some sparks to fly today. Someone has the wrong end of the stick, a message just does not sit comfortably. Mind your words – or even though this is not a firey mix – sparks will fly. In my opinion, Mars is planning something… and the truth will out later in the week. Mercury in Libra is good at packaging, marketing etc. so it can sell a difficult message. Libra can even make you believe ‘it was all your idea’ when clearly it wasn’t. Anyway. … by the weekend, the bottom might fall out of the best laid plans.
Astro-insight: Friday – Mercury sextile Saturn in Sagittarius
Is this a last ditch attempt to cross the Rubicon? An attempt to bridge the gap ? To make amends ? To put things right? Mercury exalts Saturn. What have you got to lose?
Astro-insight: Saturday – Sun opposite Uranus
Exactly! Baby? Bathwater? The LOT. For people looking for a fresh start, it doesn’t get much better than this.
Astro-insight: Sunday October – Full Moon – Mercury square Pluto
Insight often comes with a price tag. Mercury square Pluto could erupt into a big bitch fest. Alternatively, this energy might manifest as a break through, new insight into self and others. Ideally, this full-moon should put self reflection at the very top of the agenda.
Anyways… here’s wishing all my readers a brilliant week…. Liz
