Astro-insight: Mars conjunct Pluto signals repressed or pent up energy

On Tuesday Venus moves into Sagittarius and changes the general vibe of the Sun’s end sprint through Libra. Sagittarius is an energetic moveable sign with an uplifting feel to it. Okay. Okay. I spotted Saturn too. Here come’s little Red Riding Hood..now where’s the wolf?

So, this feels rather like ‘enjoy the fun while it lasts, because there are some restrictions and serious obstacles ahead.’ An image of a flapper spontaneously sprang to mind and the roaring twenties, those fabulously heady days of excess and indulgence – followed by pain, depression and austerity. Seriously though… As an astrologer – you’d have to make an effort to not have fun at the moment. I cannot remember an American Election that has been more entertaining. Never a dull moment.
Venus is the ruler of the midheaven in the US Sibly horoscope and it seems appropriate that with Hillary Clinton poised to win by a landslide – Venus is now entering the sign of the US ascendant. A woman is rising. However don’t pop the corks too soon. The few days around Halloween look interesting – since this is when Venus conjuncts Saturn proper. In fact, Venus and Saturn will bracket the US Sibly ascendant and oppose US radix Uranus in the 7th house (of open enemies) at this time. This would certainly be the moment to send a serious message to one’s opponents.

On Wednesday, Mars conjuncts heavy weight Pluto… but put any further thoughts of a slug fest out of your minds. I have the feeling that The Donald (or is it The Trump??) will be cooling off a bit in his last debate with Hillary Clinton on Wednesday evening. Might we even see a charm offensive? Some change of tactics methinks. He is just a little bit too scary at the minute and with Venus now in his opposite corner Sagittarius, he is being offered a full size mirror. ‘Tone it down” … I think someone whispered or shouted this with a mega phone, down his right ear. Mars/Pluto are unaspected as the debate opens, suggestive of repressed or pent up sexual energy. The gun is loaded … but being kept firmly in the pocket.

However, come Thursday, Mercury planet of communication opposes Uranus, the fire starter. Really, it’s anyone’s guess what the papers will make of it. Expect at the very least some incredibly witty internet memes. This kind of makes a mockery of the election process, it is funny, but on the other hand thinking Saturn here, this really is a pretty serious state of affairs.

On Sunday, the Sun himself moves sign. This is significant. Scorpio is Mars ruled – and Mars is currently in the sign of its exaltation Capricorn. This could manifest itself as a huge show of strength. In military terms – a great battle could be won – or lost – depending on whose side your on. There will probably be a lot of posturing going on. The coming weeks – in fact – until Mars ingress into Aquarius on November 9th (the day after the US election!!!) massive effort can be made to further a campaign. Completely aside from politics, this is a key moment in the year for getting things done.
