Trump vs Biden: My personal astrological perspective

In recent weeks I have posted several articles on my Liz Hathway Astrologer Facebook page about the Presidential Race in the US.  I want to bundle that content into one place.

Starting with my weekly vlog posted on September 27th, I noted what a massive week lay ahead. Saturn went direct on Tuesday September 29th, the day of the first of the three Presidential debates between Trump and Biden. Pluto was all but stationary too, he went direct on Sunday October 4th. Time seems to have lost all meaning -it is hard to believe that this is only two weeks ago – it feels like a lifetime to me. At the time I wrote ‘finally the juggernauts line up to exit the parking lot. With Mercury in Scorpio stirring up the emotional underbelly, and a Full Moon in Aries .. ‘ there certainly was a lot to dip into. A debate held on the day of a Saturn station direct – and a Mars / Saturn square!! Who was the villain of the piece ? Which ever way you look at it .. that Mars/Saturn square was – as I predicted – really predatory. I wrote ‘someone wants to dole out a mighty big whipping. Mercury is Mars ruled and opposite Uranus – unconstrained by rules and regulations ? This will be electrifying.’ It was electrifying, but for all the wrong reasons. Loudest voice in the room was Trump’s – and it was definitely a jarring Mercury/Uranus debate.

Posted Sunday 29th September on Facebook at 22.38 pm. “Some General Thoughts on the US 2020 Presidential Election

Note: I work with the Sibly horoscope, 4 July 1776, 17.10 Philadephia, Asc. 12 degrees 21 Sagittarius.

Just days before the US Presidential election, the secondary progressed Moon in the horoscope of the United States, changes sign. It moves into Aquarius – and will still be at zero + degrees Aquarius on November 3rd, the day of the election. This is a degree we know will feature later in the year – namely on December 21st when Jupiter and Saturn make the definitive shift to air – and are conjunct in zero degrees Aquarius. The secondary progressed Moon is an important planet in the US Sibly horoscope, it is the ruler of the Cancer Sun and in mundane astrology in general, it says a lot about the vibe in the collective. Aquarius in general, has an interest in democracy – its about finding a tribe of like minded people.

In March 1993 – the Secondary Progressed Moon was also in Capricorn hovering close to Secondary Progressed Pluto – at that time the US saw events like the Great Blizzard of 1993, or the Great Flood of 1993 – as well as the violent end of the Waco siege. However, what makes this particular progressed Moon stand out, is that since March 2020 transiting Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto have been in the same area of the zodiac. In a word: Ouch.

Anyways .. Secondary Progressed Moon moving into an air sign so close to this election has to be significant. What we are seeing here, is a subtle shift in the collective energy – a movement away from what has clearly been a difficult passage for the Moon through the gateway of Pluto in late degrees of Capricorn in the secondary progressed Sibly horoscope. Aquarius can be erratic and ’the orange man’ is definitely zany, off the wall, insanely different. Biden appears – rather dull in comparison.

Second point of interest. Secondary Progressed Venus – ruler of Sibly MC – and of Saturn in Libra in Sibly radix 10th house – has moved into Taurus – and is actually conjunct with Biden’s radix Venus. Biden has a female running mate – a clever move on his part. Say what you will about Hilary Clinton, she broke through a glass ceiling and made women aspire to the highest office. In my recent CIA lecture, Libra Equinox Panel (Free to watch on YouTube .. I talk about the astrology of Kamala Harris in more detail)

So thinking election. Adding Biden’s Jupiter in Cancer, which is conjunct US Mercury and opposite US Pluto, to Biden’s radix Pluto closely conjunct US North Node, as well as Biden’s Secondary Progressed Mercury – ruler of his MC – now in Capricorn in the ‘cardinal zone’, his chart seems to me to be honed in to the general vibe in the collective. I am actually starting to think it could be third time lucky for Biden. I think an awful lot depends on how Biden performs this evening. His campaign is so low key. Now with Saturn moving forward today (Tues. Amsterdam) and Pluto pretty much stationary (he will move direct on Sunday) Biden will have to get his street fighting gloves on. Jupiter in Cancer is high minded and can reach out to others. For sure he will have to reach out to Trump supporters.

Horoscopes shown. Secondary Progressed US – for 3 November 2020; Tri wheel: Biden radix, Secondary progressed for 3 November and transits on the outer wheel. Time taken for transits .. is my clock time in Amsterdam.

Reflections On Donald Trump’s horoscope and Re-election Chances

Donald Trump was born with Mercury and Pluto ‘out-of-bounds’. A planet is considered OOB when it has a declination that exceeds 23 degrees 27 minutes, either North or South of the celestial equator. Such a planet is likely to express itself in a renegade, highly original way. Mercury in DT’s horoscope is in emotional, moody, defensive Cancer, and it is the ruler of Trump’s Sun, North Node and Uranus. Mercury OOB is ‘off the map’ and in Cancer it uses feeling and emotions to find its way. DT’s Mercury is square to Neptune, which on the plus side bestows the ability to tune into the feeling life of the collective, but on the negative side, can manifest as seemingly irrational, moody or emotional behaviour.

Note: The Sibly horoscope also has Mercury in Cancer and it is conjunct with DT’s Saturn/Venus in Cancer. Venus is the planet that rules DT’s midheaven, so as you would expect, there is some excellent synastry going on here.

Now Pluto:

DT’s OOB Pluto is unaspected in his 12th house (the house of hidden enemies and self-undoing), which in my view goes some way to explain why DT’s is often accused of playing the victim.  This does feel a bit like a karmic hangover to me. DT was born on a lunar eclipse and his pre-natal (PN) solar eclipse –which fell on May 30th in 8 deg Gemini 48 –  falls in his 10th house. DT already has natal Uranus, the North Node and the Sun in the 10th house, so the area of work and career which is already clearly spot lighted, is given even further importance by this PN eclipse.  In a workshop I did with Georgia Statis over the PNE, she referred to the PNE as both a gift and a blind spot.  Say what you will about DT – his career has been a roller coaster ride – with ups and downs and everything in between. His blind spot, with an un-aspected, OOB Pluto encourages risk taking coupled with an inability to see consequences, this can ultimately lead to self-defeating behaviour. Interestingly, the position of the Moon in the lunar eclipse that falls on November 30th this year, falls almost exactly on Donald Trump’s 10th house pre-natal eclipse. This lunar eclipse also falls across the ascendant/descendant axis in the Sibly horoscope of the United States, making it a particularly tense eclipse for the Sibly chart. Why? Well the eclipsed Moon (the people in mundane astrology) falls on Sibly Uranus. Take a look at the horoscope below. S

Though eclipses are not necessarily negative indicators, they can quite simply shine a spotlight on an area of the horoscope, however, having said that, eclipses do have an unpredictable quality to them, often signifying disruption as events take an unexpected turn.  There is a big spotlight on DT’s job in the build up to this eclipse. DT has the North Node in his 10th house and around the time of the November election, he will be experiencing his Nodal Return. In the light of the above, it is hard not to see the hand of destiny at work here. Hard to believe, but the Moon on Nov. 3rd in the horoscope that normally signals the start of the ‘physical’ election (00.00 hours Dixville, Notch, New Hampshire) also has the Moon in 9degrees 27 Gemini – triggering Donald Trump’s PNE degree.

Then there is that heavy weight transiting trio of planets in Capricorn which are clearly making life difficult for the current President. In particular Saturn opposite to DT’s midheaven ruler Venus can be coupled with a disappointment, setbacks, or trials and tribulations connected to status. If he should win – then it will be very interesting to see what revelations will come to light when Pluto opposes Venus throughout most of 2021.

In previous posts over this election (posted on Facebook under Liz Hathway Astrologer), I said I believed Biden could win it. Why? Well, among other indicators, one stands out for me, namely the shift in the USA secondary progressed Moon, to humane sign Aquarius days before the election. The human figure of a man carrying in his urn the only sweet water in the zodiac, points, or so it seems to me, to a collective desire for a more civilized atmosphere and a need for dialogue and debate.  The Moon is an important planet in the Sibly horoscope of the US, it rules the Sun. Whether or not I am backing the right horse… Joe Biden … remains to be seen.
